BISMUTH CONSULTING is an independent consulting firm which began operations in January 2008, shortly after Mr Bismuth, its Principal, retired from Ernst & Young after a 37 years career, thirty of which has an audit and business advisory partner in the Firm.
Our focus has been to serve as experienced business advisors to businesses and their senior management team, assisting in strategy development and implementation. Our mandates have included working with leaders facing difficult crossroads and challenges.
- We have assisted companies in developing rigorous Mergers and Acquision strategies, initiating reviews of their corporate objectives and assisting in defining the appropriate strategies, including identifying and evaluating targets and best of fit, assisting in approaching and negotiating with potential targets, and in arriving at a fair offer.
We have also developped an expertise in working on various forms of dispute resolutions related to commercial disputes. As an independent firm, we are free from frequent conflict of interests that may exist in other firms. We have worked on arbitrations, class actions, mediated solutions and other forms of litigation. Mr Bismuth has delivered a number of expert reports and has appeared in Court and has been recognized as an expert in accounting, auditing and information systems matters by Quebec Superior Court judges.
We bring expertise in many industries, notably for companies operating in the InformationTechnology fields, Life Sciences, Aerospace and Defence and E commerce. During his years at Ernst & Young, Mr. Bismuth established a reputation and recognition for his expertise in these industries.
He also served a wide range of businesses operating in the industrial and consumer markets, and also worked with the entrepreneurial and public company segments.
Mr Bismuth served as auditor and business advisor to companies having an international footprint. In some cases, he conducted oerational reviews for some of their subsidiaries and affiliated companies. He worked on some very big consortium and joint ventures, as well as companies which chose to become publicly traded entities.
Mr Bismuth served on the Board of the Canadian Assosciation of Venture Capitalist for 7 years and he worked very closely with a number of its members.
As a senior consultant, Mr Bismuth has assisted Federal and Quebec governments in assessing their respective investing policies aimed at assisting Canadian and Quebec based companies in growing and becoming more competitive.
